Ottoman Troops Rescuing Hadjin from
Siege 1909
The Rescuers of the 1909 Siege of
Hadjin
From a Harold Keshishian letter:
It took me years to figure out what
hundreds of soldiers were doing in Hadjin. The city was
surrounded by thousands of local Turks and Kurds and lots
of Rumeli and Chechen Transplants. They were part of the
1909 mob killing the Armenians in Adana.
The Troops were sent originally to help
the mob but at the last minute they were sent as
rescuers. Close inspection shows hundreds of Soldiers
with arms.
